HOW TO RECEIVE MONEY
It's very easy to receive money through Western Union. First, locate your nearest Western Union Agent in Korea here. Then make your way to the Agent location.
CONFIRM THAT THE MONEY IS READY FOR PICK UP
Before you (the Receiver) visit our Agent location, make sure that the money is ready to be collected. Either contact the sender to confirm, or track the status of your money transfer online, or call our Customer Service Center at 00798 8521 3000 (toll-free; valid for calls within Korea only).
VISIT THE AGENT LOCATION
Remember to bring the following information:
- The sender's full name (that is, first, middle and last names).
- The country from where the money was sent.
- The amount that was sent.
- The Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN).
- Your current original valid government-issued identification with photo.

COMPLETE THE 'TO RECEIVE MONEY' FORM
Just fill out the 'To Receive Money' form and provide the Agent the MTCN and your current original valid government-issued photo identification.

REVIEW AND SIGN THE RECEIPT
You'll be given a receipt. Review it thoroughly and sign the receipt if all the details are accurate.
RECEIVE YOUR MONEYThe Agent will then hand you your money together with the receipt. The transaction is complete. Please keep your money in a safe and secure place.
RESTRICTIONS AND SPECIAL NOTES ON RECEIVING MONEY IN KOREA
- Maximum principal receive amount: USD 7,000 or its local equivalent per single transfer per person per day.
- Receivers must present their current original valid government-issued photo identification for all money transfers. (Foreigners: valid passports only)
- Receivers must provide correct Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN), which is a mandatory requirement in Korea.
- The 'Test Question' feature is not available in Korea.
- Money Transfers relating to gambling are prohibited.
